HERE ARE (VERY) OLD SLIDE SCANS. SLIDES WILL BE RE-SCANNED, IMAGES ENLARGED AND NEW SLIDES SCANNED IN FUTURE.
Light pillar raising above the sun (moon), or on a cold day above bright artificial lights or behind a hill from headlights of an approaching car, is a very common manifestation of floating, flat and horizontally aligned ice crystals. Pillars from artificial lights can extend up to the zenith while sun or moon pillars extend only 22 degrees up (or down).
